Surah Name: Ad-Dukhan Meaning: The Smoke
Hameem Ha Mim. (44:1) |
Wa(a)lkitabi almubeen(i) By this luminous Book. (44:2) |
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ Inna anzalnahu fee laylatin mubarakatin inna kunna munthireen(a) We-SWT have sent it down on a blessed night; verily We-SWT were to become warners. (44:3) |
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ Feeha yufraqu kullu amrin hakeem(in) Therein is decreed every affair of wisdom. (44:4) |
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ Amran min AAindina inna kunna mursileen(a) As a Command from before Us-SWT . Verily We-SWT were to become Senders. (44:5) |
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ Rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa a(l)ssameeAAu alAAaleem(u) A Mercy from the Rabb-SWT . Verily He-SWT ! He-SWT is the Hearer, the Knower. (44:6) |
رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ Rabbi a(l)ssamawati wa(a)lardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineen(a) Rabb-SWT of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if only you would be convinced. (44:7) |
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ La ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleen(a) There is no god but He-SWT . He-SWT quickens and causes to die: your Rabb-SWT and Rabb-SWT of your forefathers. (44:8)

بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboon(a) Aye! They are in doubt sporting. (44:9) |
فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاء بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ Fa(i)rtaqib yawma tatee a(l)ssamao bidukhanin mubeen(in) So wait you for a day when the sky will bring forth a manifest smoke. (44:10) |
يَغْشَى النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ Yaghsha a(l)nnasa hatha AAathabun aleem(un) Covering the people, this shall be a dreadful scourge. (44:11) |
رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathaba inna muminoon(a) Our Rabb-SWT ! Lift up from us this scourge; verily we shall become believers. (44:12) |
أَنَّى لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَى وَقَدْ جَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ Anna lahumu a(l)ththikra waqad jaahum rasoolun mubeen(un) How can there be an admonition unto them, when there came to them a clear Messenger-SW. (44:13) |
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloo muAAallamun majnoon(un) Yet they turned away from him-SW and said: One tutored, one distracted! (44:14) |
إِنَّا كَاشِفُو الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ Inna kashifoo alAAathabi qaleelan innakum AAaidoon(a) Verily We-SWT shall remove the chastisement for a while; but verily you shall revert. (44:15) |
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرَى إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ Yawma nabtishu albatshata alkubra inna muntaqimoon(a) On the Day when We-SWT assault them with the greatest assault, verily We-SWT shall take vengeance. (44:16) |
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawma firAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareem(un) And assuredly before them We-SWT tried the Pharaoh's people, and there came to them an honoured Messenger-AS, saying. (44:17) |
أَنْ أَدُّوا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ An addoo ilayya AAibada Allahi innee lakum rasoolun amen(un) Restore to me the bondmen of Allah-SWT, I am unto you a trusted Messenger. (44:18) |
وَأَنْ لَّا تَعْلُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِنِّي آتِيكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahi innee ateekum bisultanin mubeen(in) And saying: Exalt not yourselves against Allah-SWT, verily I have come to you with a manifest authority. (44:19) |
وَإِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ Wainnee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikum an tarjumoon(i) And verity I have sought refuge in my Rabb-SWT and your Rabb-SWT lest you stone me. (44:20) |
وَإِنْ لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا لِي فَاعْتَزِلُونِ Wain lam tuminoo lee fa(i)AAtaziloon(i) And if you will not believe in me, then let me alone. (44:21) |
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هَؤُلَاء قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ FadaAAa rabbahu anna haolai qawmun mujrimoon(a) Then he called upon his Rabb-SWT : These are a guilty people. (44:22) |
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoon(a) Allah-SWT said. So depart you with My-SWT bondmen by night; surely you will be pursued. (44:23) |
وَاتْرُكْ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ Wa(o)truki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoon(a) And leave you the sea parted; verily they are a host to be drowned. (44:24) |
كَمْ تَرَكُوا مِن جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoon(in) They left-how many-of gardens and springs. (44:25) |
WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareem(in) And cornfields and goodly positions. (44:26) |
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا فِيهَا فَاكِهِينَ WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheen(a) And the delights, which they had been enjoying! (44:27) |
كَذَلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareen(a) Even so And We-SWT caused another people to inherit them. (44:28) |
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنظَرِينَ Fama bakat AAalayhimu a(l)ssamao wa(a)lardu wama kanoo munthareen(a) And the heaven and the earth did not shed tears for them, nor were they reprieved. (44:29) |
